How Much Does Welding Cost?

How Much Do Welders Charge per Hour?

As a planning range, welding shops often charge about $75–$150 per hour, and mobile welders about $90–$200 plus travel or a call-out fee. Most have a minimum charge, often one hour or more. Metal type, position, access and certification needs change the price, so send photos and ask for a written quote.

Getting a Useful Quote

Send clear photos, measurements and the metal type if you know it, and say what the part does. A trailer tongue, for example, carries very different risk than a garden gate.

Safety

Do not ask anyone to weld a fuel tank or sealed container without the proper procedure. Treat structural, pressure and towing parts as specialist work.
