Before You Hire

Typical turnaround is 2–7 days, longer in spring. Ask:

Can I get a written estimate with parts and labor listed separately before any work starts?
What is your hourly labor rate, and is there a diagnostic fee? Is it credited toward the repair?
Will you call me for approval if the job grows beyond the estimate?
Are your technicians ASE certified in this kind of repair?
Are the parts new OEM, aftermarket or rebuilt?

Tips

Book ahead for spring: riding season can stretch wait times to weeks.
Ask whether they mount tires you bought elsewhere and what it costs.

Getting several quotes? Line them up in the quote comparison tool and read what to check on an estimate before you approve work.
