Before You Hire

Typical turnaround is same day, often under 30 minutes. Ask:

• What is the inspection fee, and does it include a retest?
• Do I need an appointment?
• What documents do I need to bring?
• If it fails, must I repair it here?

Tips

• Rules and fees are set by your state, and many states require none: check your DMV.
• You can generally take a failed vehicle to any repair shop you choose.
